Its membership consists of equestrian travel providers, outfitters, camps, clinics, ranches, and other businesses throughout the world that are involved in the industry. The ETA functions as the united voice of equestrian travel companies, groups and facilities while raising public awareness of the industry and setting uniform standards of high conduct for all approved members. The ETA strives to promote equestrian travel and the various businesses of its membership, as well as increase overall equestrian travel market share within the travel and vacation marketplace. This entails sharing the fun and excitement of horseback travel and vacations with the public through various forms of media and public events. The association also encourages and facilitates various opportunities for networking and business relationships among its membership to increase profitability for all association members. Professional standards required of all ETA members include honest business methodology, exceptional care and treatment of horses, and the finest quality in customer service. ETA members are recognized by customers within the equestrian travel trade as those with the highest standards in all aspects of their operations. When the emblem of the ETA is displayed on a website or in a place of business, it signifies that the business has been approved by the association and is currently in good standing. My Unforgettable Two-Day Escape at Herdade da Malhadinha NovaAs the founder and owner of the Equestrian Travel Association, I’ve traveled extensively and explored many incredible destinations, but my recent stay at Herdade da Malhadinha Nova was something truly special—an experience that touched every sense and left me inspired. From the moment I arrived, I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and genuine hospitality. The owners greeted me with open arms, making me feel like a cherished guest rather than just another visitor.\ My journey began with a scenic tour of the estate’s lush vineyards, which stretch across rolling hills that seem to go on forever. The estate’s horses, beautifully trained and spirited, eagerly took me on a ride through this picturesque landscape. As I trotted along the winding trails, I was struck by the harmony of nature and craftsmanship—the perfect setting for both relaxation and reflection. Riding through the estate, I felt completely immersed in the serenity that this place exudes, the gentle sounds of horses and the rustling of leaves providing a soothing soundtrack. Later, I had the pleasure of meeting the passionate owners, whose dedication to excellence and deep love for their land and horses are contagious. Their commitment to sustainable practices and high standards of care are evident in every detail, from the pristine stables to the carefully maintained vineyards. The accommodations were nothing short of extraordinary. My room was a sanctuary—spacious, beautifully decorated, and offering panoramic views of the estate’s landscapes. Waking up to the sunrise over the vineyards each morning was a breathtaking experience. The estate’s dining experiences were equally impressive, with each meal a celebration of local flavors and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dishes were artfully prepared, and every bite was a reminder of Portugal’s rich culinary heritage. But what truly made my stay unforgettable was the sense of indulgence and relaxation. I was spoiled with a luxurious massage that melted away any lingering tension, leaving me feeling completely rejuvenated. Later, I participated in a pottery class, a delightful experience that allowed me to express my creativity and connect with the tranquil surroundings on a whole new level. Creating something with my own hands, in such a beautiful setting, was both grounding and inspiring. Throughout my visit, the staff’s warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shone brightly. Every detail, from the personalized service to the thoughtful touches, made me feel like I was visiting friends who genuinely wanted to make my stay memorable. Their passion for hospitality and their commitment to excellence truly elevate the experience. Welcoming Our Newest Gold Member: Herdade da Malhadinha Nova We are delighted to introduce Herdade da Malhadinha Nova as the newest Gold Member of the Equestrian Travel Association! This exceptional Portuguese estate has a rich equestrian heritage that dates back to its beginnings with just six mares and one stallion. Since earning the HMN seal in 2008, the estate has grown significantly, now caring for 40 horses that are at the heart of their diverse activities. Malhadinha Nova is dedicated to breeding horses for training and competition in dressage, as well as developing a thriving equestrian tourism experience within their luxurious hotel project. Their horses—Opus, Joca, Grainha, Mickey, Querubin, Lizete, Phenix, and Ziljad—have earned numerous prizes over the years, including awards in the Portugal Dressage Cup, the National Teaching Competition, and the Projeto Cavalos Novos (Young Horse Project), organized by the Portuguese Association of Pure Blood Lusitano Breeders (APCCPSL).
